FAQ: Which SOC 2 tasks should we automate first?

Start with repetitive collection or reminders where the inputs and expected result are well understood. Examples include scheduling evidence requests, exporting an approved report, or flagging an overdue review. Document the manual process first so you know what the automation should preserve. Pilot one workflow, compare its output with the source, and assign someone to investigate failures. Keep decisions that require context with an appropriate reviewer. Automating a confusing process can produce confusing records faster. Choose the first use case for reliability and reduced effort, not because a vendor can label the whole control automated.
